I am pleased to announce that I will be commencing treatments again from Saturday, September 5. This has enabled me time to put all possible COVID-19 measures in place in order for me to carry out your treatments and for you to feel safe and comfortable.
My treatments will continue at Essential Well-being in London Road, Spalding, and at a new venue in Boston - Mindful of Being in Tattershall Road.
Before your appointment
Prior to your treatment I will be asking a number of COVID-19 screening questions, as well as carrying out my usual consultation. I will also be taking your temperature when you arrive and if you have a high temperature I will need to reschedule your treatment. This is, of course, to keep everyone safe.
I will also ask that you please arrive wearing a face mask. If for any reason you are unable to wear a mask, please contact me to discuss.
If you have been abroad you will also need to wait 14 days before having a treatment with myself.
COVID-19 has changed many procedures and in order to protect those most at risk I am unable to offer treatments at the moment if you are classed as an 'extremely vulnerable person' (at high risk if you contract coronavirus).
If you are classed as a 'vulnerable person' (at moderate risk) I will need you to seek up-to-date consent from your GP or medical professional before I am able to carry out a treatment. This includes if you are aged 70 or above, whether or not you have a medical condition. I understand that you may be very fit and active if you are 70 or above but I must follow the Government's guidelines and we have to all look after each other.
You can also click here to see if you fall into either the 'extremely vulnerable' or 'vulnerable' categories.
Thank you. Zoe Myall
More about my treatments
Sports Massage is not solely for people who do sports. If you work at a desk, or spend a lot of time driving, you may suffer back, shoulder and neck pain or stiffness. Sports Massage utilises methods such as muscle energy techniques (METs), soft tissue release (STR), and stretching to break down adhesions, relieve tension and aid circulation.
Deep Tissue Massage concentrates on areas of tension and pain and uses deep, slow strokes in order to reach the sub-layer of muscles and the fascia (the connective tissue surrounding muscles). It helps to break down adhesions in the tissue to relieve pain and restore normal movement.
Myofascial Release is a gentle manual therapy used to treat soft tissue and fascial tension and restrictions. Where fascia becomes tightened it can restrict movement and cause pain. I will utilise myofascial release techniques where fascia is found to be causing restriction to the muscles and joints.
Kinesio Taping is a rehabilitative taping technique that is designed to facilitate the body’s natural healing process while providing support and stability to muscles and joints without restricting the body’s range of motion. It can be used for a range of conditions including muscle imbalance and helps with postural correction, plus providing pain relief and helping to prevent re-injury.

What should you wear for a treatment?
Comfortable, loose clothing. Shorts can be worn if you prefer. Towels are used during the treatment to cover areas not being worked on so you are kept comfortable.
Is it painful?
If you have areas of tightness, tenderness can be felt; however, I will speak to you during the massage to check the pressure and ensure you are comfortable and less or firmer pressure can be used.
What does an appointment involve?
At the first appointment, a medical history is taken and a treatment plan will be discussed and agreed with you. For sports massage, depending on your requirements I may carry out passive, active, and resisted muscle tests to identify where muscle tightness, weakness or imbalances exist. After the treatment, specific exercises and stretches can be suggested to help you.
On your first appointment you will be asked to complete a health questionnaire. This is to ensure that the treatment is suitable for you. If there are any health concerns you may be referred to your GP for further advice. Women must also notify the therapist if they are pregnant, or think they may be pregnant.
All information provided will be treated as confidential and safely stored and your details will be updated to create a record of the treatment provided and its outcome.
Your details will not be shared with anybody else unless you give prior consent in regards to care for your health and well-being and as part of your treatment plan.
